Injury Prevention Working Group
Unintentional
and intentional injuries are a leading cause of mortality and
morbidity in the harsh environment of the North. Both occupational
and non-occupational injuries are of special importance in this
region, and both are focus areas for this Working Group. Injury
classification and surveillance, the role of alcohol and drug
abuse, injury risks related to subsistence and work-related activities,
and prevention programs are all areas to be addressed by this
Working Group.
